Conservation Week 2015

5th June 2015

At the Iziko South African National Gallery with Centre for Curating the Archive, UCT Conveners: Angela Zehnder, Hayden Proud and Nancy Nantascollaboration of this this research project was the subject of the exhibition in Room 7 of the Gallery.

Iziko SA National Gallery hosted Conservation Week which looked at preventive conservation including environmental concerns, wood conservation with Social History Conservation team.

Works on paper, a dialogue with an artist Willie Bester in relation to this works in the permanent collection, examination of Paintings, and Angela Lloyd to speak about her book with the identified exhibition on Moses Tladi were also included. And a dialogue with Education.

This workshop was also exciting as it creates an opportunity for curators and conservators can engage and collaborate. In addition to this, the use of the new Leica microscope with flat screen was also used, which allows for the study the art works in greater detail.
